Announcements (6.21.12)

Naco Mission Report - This Sunday night in the evening worship service we will share with you about our mission to Naco.  We're going to do something a little different after we share about the trip.  One of the things that missionaries need is encouragement.  The Scriptures teach us to encourage each other (Acts 13:15; Acts 15:30-32; 1 Thess 5:11).  Tim and Jennifer need our encouragement in this time.  We will have a time at the end of the worship service for each person to write a letter of encouragement to the Scarbroughs.  Also, Emily and I were planning on sending them some financial support, and we thought that we would open that up on Sunday night for anyone else who is interested in contributing as well.  The Scarbroughs live on a very meager means from their church + anyone who chooses to support them.

Communion Sunday Morning - We will celebrate communion together this Sunday morning during our worship service.  This is always one of my favorite times for the church.

Breakfast Cooks for Jamboree - Would you be interested in cooking some breakfast for the jamboree vendors as part of our ministry to them?  Let pastor Mark know.  This would be an early morning ministry on the Friday and Saturday of the jamboree.

Galatians, True Gospel Series - We continue our series in Galatians this Sunday morning.  If you've missed any parts of the series, the sermon audio is available on our church website or you can read summaries on Mark's blog.

Update from Naco

Happy Wednesday to you all.  I wanted to post an update on the blog for you.  I don't have any pictures for you because they're all on my phone.  I have uploaded a few of those to the church facebook group if you want to check there.

We had a good trip in on Saturday, and we picked up an extra team member from a church in Kentucky.  Charlotte has been to Naco 3 times before and was talking with Jennifer a few weeks ago saying that she wanted to come back, so Jennifer invited her to join our team.

Sunday was worship at Naco Baptist and in the afternoon we spent time planning our VBS days and going to pick up supplies.

Monday and Tuesday we were running our VBS.  In the mornings from 10am-12pm we do VBS in Naco, AZ.  In the afternoons from 5pm-7pm we do the same VBS in Spanish in Naco, Mexico.  Monday we had 43 kids (12 in AZ, 31 in Mexico).  Tuesday we had 69 kids (19 in AZ, 50 in Mexico).

The Lord has blessed us with good sleep and stamina.  Thanks for your prayers!  I look forward to being back you in worship on Sunday morning.

Bro. Mark
